See the Value of Family Histories: A Tribute to Grandma, Part 3

November 14, 2014

Passionate family historians know the value of recording their stories and pieces of history. Grandma knew that family stories have value, especially for descendants who would at some point want to know about the family stories she could tell. She knew that the stories about her Scandinavian immigrant grandparents would be lost within a generation without a written history of their ordinary lives. Funny how those once ordinary lives seem rather extraordinary to me, a great, great-granddaughter.

You never know what value the family histories you write will have or how they will influence other family members or future generations. Your ordinary life won’t be so ordinary in a few generations.
